Benefits of subscription payments
Subscription payments are used to repeatedly withdraw money from your customers' payment cards without the customers having to re-enter their credit card information. It works in the same way as a direct debit service.
Requirements for your website
To use subscription payments, your company must be approved by your acquirer. It won't cost you anything, but they may impose a number a number of requirements on your website:
- Your terms and conditions must include information about procedures for changing/renewing the card number
- Your terms and conditions must include information about how and how often the customer will receive or have access to receipts, cf. the law on payment methods
- The customers have to accept your terms and conditions before signing a subscription agreement
Two different methods
When you set up recurring payments via our API, you're in control of everything. You handle all logic and can decide when and how much to withdraw from your customer's card. Please note that it requires programming to use API.
Instead, you can handle subscription payments from our administration. First, you create a plan that determines when and how much to withdraw from a card. Second, you add your customer's card to a subscription plan, and the set-up is complete. We handle all logic, and you can change the settings for your subscription plans in the administration.
